Château Falfas - Château Falfas 2019
Bordeaux | red, dry |
A wild and untamed red wine with rich fruity and spicy notes, full of energy and complexity.
Bordeaux, aged in French oak barrels, offering complex aromas of wild cherries, raspberries, red currants, and cassis, with hints of bergamot and lavender. On the palate, it is astringent, with well-structured tannins and a refreshing acidity that ensures a long and pleasant finish. Ideal for those seeking a wine with character and untamed energy.
Château Falfas is located on the right bank of the Gironde in Bayon and has been known as the “glory of Bourgeais” since the 14th century. Véronique’s family farms 20 hectares here, mostly planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. Since 1989, the estate has been fully biodynamic – a heartfelt commitment for Véronique, whose father François Bouchet was one of France’s pioneers of biodynamic viticulture. Château Falfas is a founding member of Biodyvin, the biodynamic growers’ union. The wines are made using traditional methods, with no chemical inputs and long aging in oak barrels.
