Gala - Ryzlink vlašský 2023 Hermes
Mikulovsko | white, dry |
The most iconic variety and area in Moravia in one bottle.
Welschriesling from Pálava is a big thing in Czech wine world. Ours is from Jaromír Gala and reflects the colorful mosaic of the subsoil of the Hermesdorfen vineyard. Aged in a mix of new and older oak and acacia barrels for 10 months. Very harmonious, complex wine with a long aftertaste.

Jaromír Gala manages 9 hectares of vineyards, all within the unique Pálava hill. The local terroir is unique and unrivaled in the Czech Republic. Limestone, marl and clay, and also sea shells can be find here, because sea was here many milion years ago, so basically every winemaker's dream. Jaromír was born in village Kobylí and comes from a family with a long winemaking tradition. Both of his grandfathers owned vineyards and produced wine. His approach is very precise, rational and at the same time it reflects the desire to do things for a long time and sustainable. Welschriesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and from black varieties Pinot Noir and Merlot, these are the main players here. His wines are clean, sincere and very harmonious, he does not let trends take over and he still follows his path, which he has set in advance. Whats definitely worth mentioning are his sparkling wines, with three years on lees and minimal dosage, so very dry and complex.
